April 27--A very favourable review of 2 The Max just in from Cashbox Magazine! According to reviewer Don Graham, "This CD collection is guaranteed to take you back to the coffee house feel that bred some of the great folk artists of our time. Give a listen, you’ll be glad you did."

April 25--Grandson Kyle belted out two of his haunting tunes and played a fantastic, rhythmic harmonic riff at the Trane Studio last night. My own songs never sounded better thanks to the live band and Noah Zacharin''s uncanny, perceptive back-up on guitar...
April 23--Looking forward to playing "The Jesus Song" with grandson Kyle. Click on the link above to see where and when.
April 23--Thanks, Jennifer Courvoisier, for bringing your unique talent and passion to the Tranzac show! Thanks also to Ardene Shapiro for her original songs and Bob Cohen for his consistently amazing guitar work! The Tranzac is a very intimate place and it was a pleasure to see everyone's creativity up close and personal...
April 22--As happens every fourth Sunday of every month, the Three Wordsmiths play the Tranzac (295 Brunswick Av., just south of Bloor) at 3:00pm. Aside from me premiering "The Lorelei," Robert Priest will be playing songs from his forthcoming album, Ardene Shapiro will be singing a couple of her own, and Jennifer Courvoisier will be sitting in for a full set. Definitely a must see event!
April 20--Just put the finishing touches on "The Lorelei" - a song in a long tradition of poets encountering the Muse near water. I'm thinking "Directive" by Robert Frost, "Lone Bather" by A.M. Klein, "The Swimmer" by my father, "Suzanne" by Leonard Cohen, "Pike" by Ted Hughes...
April, 13--The official launch of 2 TheMax was a huge success! We had a great a party at my favourite seedy dive, the Tranzac Club, 295 Brunswick Av., just south of Bloor. I played some of my best songs - the audience made requests! - and Bob Cohen backed me up on guitar with some amazing licks! April 10--The full hour live interview on CIUT FM was a pleasure to do last night. Bob Cohen's guitar accompaniment was superb and the host of "Acoustic Workshop," Heather Fielding, put me completely at ease. I told stories (like the one about the druggie in the lumbercamp) that surprised even me. Check it out! According to CJSR FM in Edmonton, 2 The Max is #23 on their Top 30 Chart and #2 on their Folk Chart!
